Content:

I just published Delphi 2009 Development Essentials on Lulu.com as paperback (24 Euro) or PDF download (16 Euro) as a 127 page A4-size book (38,638 words) that covers the new IDE, Compiler, Language, RTL/VCL and Unicode features in Delphi 2009. Specific attention is paid to Generics, Anonymous Methods (also in combination with Generics), Unicode strings and support, migration to Unicode, COM enhancements, Ribbon controls (in combination with the ActionManager), the new DataSnap 2009 Architecture and Globalisation / Localisation with the translation of an application from English to Dutch and Chinese.

See http://www.lulu.com/content/5037135 for more details.

This book is included for free (in PDF format) with any other purchase from my own bookstore at http://www.eBob42.com/courseware, and will be sent within 24 hours as PDF to all my existing customers (who purchased Delphi from me, one or more courseware manuals, training or hired me for consultancy or development).

Bob Swart 08/11/24 23:26:17If you didn't get your free copy of Delphi 2009 Development Essentials in your mailbox by know, but think you should have (because your one of my customers), please contact me so I can send it again when needed.
Thanks to the eDocEngine VCL and PDF Toolkit from Gnostice for helping me automate the process of PDF generating and e-mailing ;-)
Rick 08/11/24 23:26:37I just received my copy, as an existing customer. Thanks, you're the man!!
Bob Swart 08/11/24 23:33:10You're welcome - I've been selling a lot of stuff lately, and wanted to do something back (especially since Delphi 2009 with the Unicode support and language enhancements plus DataSnap 2009 re-architecture is making a big impact on the Delphi world again, so anyone should take notice)...
Ivan 08/11/25 00:56:52An excellent read. It explains D2009 better than anything else I've come across. Thanks!
