From Monday, Feb 213th until Friday Feb 17th, I'm participating in the BASTA! 2006 Spring Edition & dot.net konferenz in Frankfurt, Germany.

On Monday, I do a full-day Power Workshop on ADO.NET / BDP Database Development with Delphi 2006, and on Tuesday, I do a session covering Multi-Tier/Distributed Database Applications in .NET.

In the ADO.NET / BDP Database Development with Delphi 2006 Power Workshop, we'll cover ADO.NET Database Development with Delphi 2006.
The ADO.NET provider model is covered in detail, introducing sqlConnection, sqlDataAdapter, sqlCommand, sqlDataReader, sqlCommandBuilder, as well as the database independent DataSet, DataTable, DataRow, DataView, etc.
After the introduction to ADO.NET and the sqlXXX components (connecting to SQL Server or MSDE), we'll cver the Borland Data Provider for ADO.NET which supports multiple databases like SQL Server, InterBase, DB2, Oracle, Sybase, Access, etc.
We'll not only learn how to connect to and work with the data from database, but also how to store the data in XML briefcases, how to send efficient updates (only changes), how to use stored procedures (with parameters), how to navigate in a dataset.
As part of the Delphi 2006 new features, I'll also cover BDP enhancements like connection pooling, SQL tracing, and the reconcile error dialog.

In the Multi-Tier/Distributed Database Applications in .NET session, two techniques are demonstrated to build multi-tier database applications: ASP.NET Web Services and .NET Remoting using Delphi for .NET as the development environment.
In both cases, the server-side application will be returning DataSets to clients, and receiving DiffGrams from clients to update the remote database.
