Kick-Ass Delphi Programming is not really a book, but more a collection of (great) articles about a number of otherwise unrelated subjects, such as Delphi Screen Savers, 32-bit console apps, 32-bit Delphi DLLs (When, Why and How), Drag and Drop, Winsock, an FTP Client, Persistence, the Math unit and Hierarchical Data in Relational Databases.
The last few chapters written by Don Taylor, feature the return of Ace Breakpoint, the P.I. that turned into a Windows programmer (see also Delphi Programming Explorer). It's a useful book, with some very unique and rather independent chapters, some mainly for Delphi 1, some for Delphi 2. However, you gotta be sure you need this information before you buy the book, so browse before you buy! |
